Martha Elizabeth Fourie was born and raised in a small town in the middle of South Africa. She is currently studying Graphic Design at the University of Stellenbosch. Her passion for Africa and its crafts originated from her indigenous knowledge. As a child her mother and two grandmothers taught her how to do craftwork with her hands.
Themes in her work are comments on culture through observations, delivered in an imaginative manner. Where most people see a mousetrap, she envisions free cheese and a challenge. She employs this attitude to conquer design obstacles and inspire people. |
